Day 01 : Fly to
Paro and drive to Thimpu(65kms./2hrs.)

Day 02 : Thimpu :
full day local sightseeing tour.
AM : Visit the memorial chorten of the Late
King Jigme Dorjee Wngchuk in the heart
Thimpu town/ The Tashichodzong, "The
fortress of the auspicious religion."
PM : Stroll downtown to the Handicraft
Development Corporation which displays all
kind of traditional handicraft product of
Bhutan.

Day 03 :
Thimpu-Punakha (77kms./3hrs.approx.)
AM : After breakfast drive over the
spectacular Dochula pass (3,100mts.) to the
warm and fertile valley of Punakha.
PM : Visit the historic Punakha Dzong, once
the seat of the old capital of Bhutan. The
magnificent Dzong is sprawled between the
Phochu and Mochu rivers.

Day 04 :
Punakha-Bhumathang (210kms./8hrs.approx.)
AM : Early morning drive to the valley of
Bhumathang through the Yotola Pass(3440 mts.).
This valley is considered a very sacred
place for the Bhutanese with many temples
and holy places. O/nt. at Bhumathang Tourist
Lodge. |
Day 05 : Bhumathang
: Full day sight seeing.
AM : Drive to Mebartsho (burning lake). This
george of the holy site and pilgrimage place
where Guru Rimpoche had hidden some
religious treasures later discovered by
Terton Pema Lingpa. Visit the Swiss farm
where you can buy excellent local cheese.
PM : Visit the Jakar Dzong (castle of white
bird). Built in 1549 this Dzong houses the
administrative centre of Bhumathang. Visit
Kurjey Lhakang, the most sacred and popular
monastery in Bhumathang. O/nt. at Bhumathang
Tourist Lodge. |
Day 06 :
Bhumathang-Thimpu (267kms./8hrs.approx.)
AM : Early morning drive to Thimpu via
Tongsa and Wangdiphodrang.

Day 07 :
Thimpu-Paro (65kms./2hrs.)
AM : Visit Drukgyel Dzong/ Kyichu Lhakang &
The National Museum.
PM : Excursion to Taktsang Lhakang. |
Day 08 : Drive to
