Langtang Trekking - 2010 Fixed Departure Dates for Joining Group
North of Kathmandu, this is the third most popular trekking region in Nepal. Though easily accessible from Kathmandu, it remains relatively unspoiled and less developed. Several great days of pleasant walk through dense forest and traditional ethnic settlements takes you to the holy Gosainkunda Lake and alpine yak pasture of Kyangin Gompa. The mountain views are genuinely inspiring. Over the years Gosainkunda has become one of the sacred pilgrimage sites for Shamans (the traditional witch doctors) as well as to many Hindu and Buddhist devotees. Crossing over the Laurebinayak Pass at an altitude of 4600m with an excellent view into Tibet is simply breathtaking.
