Trekking In Off The Beaten Track

Rolwaling Trek

Trekking Hour : Approximately 6 - 7 hours each day

Description : Rolwaling is one of Nepal's finest high mountain valleys West of the Khumhu, directly on the Tibetan frontier there is a wild, lonely high valley the "Rolwaling" which is called simply "the grave" by the indigenous Sherpa's on account of its location - buried down between steep ice-giants. Many mysterious stories have been passed on about this valley. Through which the forefathers of the present-day Sherpa's once came. It is here that the notorious and celebrated Yeti is supposed to make his home. Entire research expeditions have, so far unsuccessfully, attempted to find him.

Very few tourist success to do trekking in this area, cause of its, covering the mountain terrain of the Nepal-China (Tibet) border, the trail to this pass goes between huge mountains along glaciers, situated in eastern parts.

 

Itinerary In Detail

Day 01 : Drive Kathmandu – Chjarikot (1850m)

Day 02 : Trek to Biguti (890m).

Day 03 : Trek to Surey dovan (1020m).

Day 04 : Trek to Jagat (1395m).

Day 05 : Trek to Simigaou (2000m).

Day 06 : Trek to Kelchey (2990m).

Day 07 : Trek to Beding (3700m).

Day 08 : Trek to Nagaou (4200m).

Day 09 : Acclimatization day.

Day 10 : Trek to Tso Rolpo (4525m).

Day 11 : Trek to Tolumbhu Buka (4850m).

Day 12 : Crossing Tashi Lakpa pass (5755m), and camp at Thengpo (4300m).

Day 13 : Trek to Khumjung (3600m).

Day 14 : Trek to Namche Bazar (3600m).

Day 15 : Rest day at Namche Bazar.

Day 16 : Trek to Phakding (2600m).

Day 17 : Trek to Lukla (2804m).

Day 18 : Flight Lukla - Kathmandu.
