This is the most popular trekking peak in Nepal. From Dingboche the mountain appears as an island in a sea of ice. The summit is interesting and attractive with a highly glaciated west face rising from the Lhotse Glacier. The mountain itself is the extension of the south Ridge of Lhotse Shar separated by a small col. The ridge rising to the south from this point leads to the summit of Island Peak. The extension of this ridge descending southwest is the normal route of ascent and leads to the south summit of Island Peak.The climb affords views of some of the most spectacular scenery of the Himalayanj peaks of the Khumbu region. Seen from the summit, the giant mountains Nuptse (7,879m), Lhotse (8,501m), Lhotse middle Peak (8,410m) and. Lhotse Shar (8,383m) make a semi circle to the north. The views of Makalu (8475m) to the east, Baruntse and Amadaldam to the south complete this fantastic panorama.

Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu & transfer to Hotel
Day 02: Fly to Lukla & trek to Phakding (2610 m), 3 hrs
Day 03: Trek to Namche (3440 m), 6 hrs
Day 04: Rest, acclimate, and relax in Namche Bazaar.
Day 05: Trek to Thyanboche (3860 m), 5 hrs
Day 06: Trek to Pheriche (4250 m), 5 hrs
Day 07: Trek to Lobuche
Day 08: Trek to Kalapathar (5545 m)& back to Gorekshep (5153m)
Day 10: Trek to Everest base camp (5363m) & back to Gorekshep
Day 11: Trek to Dingboche (4410 m)
Day 12: Trek to Chukung
Day 13: Trek to Island BC
Day 14: Island BC to Summit (6160 m) & back to BC
Day 15: Trek to Pangboche (3985 m), 6 hrs
Day 16: Trek to Namche Bazaar
Day 17: Trek to Lukla
Day 18: Fly Lukla to KathmanduNote: Island peak climbing trekking trip can be organized combined lodge+ camping (tented camp). We stay at lodge while on trek and in tent while climbing.
