Lumbini tour can also be called as Buddhist tour in Nepal due to the reason that this tour mainly focuses on visiting the destinations related to Buddha including his birth place i.e. Lumbini. Nepal is probably the best destination to commit a Buddhist tour. Since Lumbini is the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautam Buddha; you would get an opportunity to visit the most panoramic destinations related with Buddha and Buddhism during the period of this tour. This tour mainly focuses on the visit to the areas related with the birthplace of Gautam Buddha and its surroundings. This tour also includes the visit of different Buddhist stupas (shrine) located inside Kathmandu and Lumbini. This tour is not a pure pilgrimage tour but the main aim of this tour is to make you visit the historical sites at Lumbini where Buddha had experienced some moments of his life. You will be able to highlight the life of Siddhartha as a prince and the period after he got enlighten during the tour. This tour includes the visit of Kapilavastu, Kudan, Ramagram stupa, Sagarhawa and other important sites related with Buddha
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
While your arrival at Kathmandu; you will be received by our best staffs and they will take you to the selected hotel in Kathmandu for rest. You will have the overnight at the hotel. If possible, you will be taken to Basantapur durbar square on this day for a short visit.
Day 2: Full day Kathmandu valley sightseeing of the Buddhist destinations inside Kathmandu valley.
After Breakfast you will be visiting to Swyambhunath also Known as the monkey temple which is one of the oldest temple in the town and a centre of respect for both Hindu and the Buddhists. From the top of Swyambhunath you can have a view of major parts of Kathmandu valley with the help of a telescope available there. After the visit of lord Swyambhunath ; you will have your lunch at the hotel and then we will visit Boudhanath stupa which is one of the largest Buddhist stupa in the world and the masterpiece of art and architecture. Kapan monastery will be the next destination to be visited where you can observe the fine Tibetan art and architectural monuments. You then will be transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight after the visit.
Day 3: Drive or fly from Kathmandu to Lumbini
You can choose both flight and drive to reach Lumbini. If you board a flight then it takes 30 minutes to be at Bhairihawa and then 20 minutes drive to Lumbini. If you take a bus then it is 321km far which takes approximately 8 hours. We recommend you to take the road way because on the way you can have a pleasing sightseeing of the different destinations of Nepal via the road way. You will have overnight at the hotel at Lumbini after you reach there.
Day 4: Full day sightseeing at Lumbini
You will have an early morning breakfast and then will be guided by an expert tour guide with detailed briefing of the destinations. The destinations will include Mayadevi Temple (Birth place of Buddha), areas of Lumbini development trust, Monastic zone and Lumbini village. You can also visit the world peace stupa in the evening. You will then have a overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Visit to the different religious and architectural sites of Kapilvastu
Drive and visit religious and archeological sites of Tilaurakot, Gotihawa, Kudan, Siddharthanagar, Niglihara, Sagarhawam Aurorakot. Tilaurakot is the ancient Kapilavastu - the capital of Shakyas, where Buddha spent his first 29 years. Kudan was where Buddha was received by his father after his access to enlightenment. King Suddhodana specially built the Kudan (Nigrodharma Park) for the accommodation of the Buddha and his followers. Gotihawa is the birth place of Krakuchanda Buddha. Niglihawa is where Kanakmuni Buddha was born. Sagarhawa is the archeological findings as "place of the massacre of the Shakyas". Overnight in Lumbini
Day 06: Devdaha - Ramgram - Bhairahawa – Kathmandu
Drive and visit religious and archeological sites at Devdaha and Ramagram. Devdaha is the ancient capital of the Koliya kingdom. It is the maternal hometown of Queen Mayadevi (mother), Prajapati Gautami (stepmother), Princess Yasodhara (consort) and where Prince Siddhartha had spent his childhood. Ramgrama is the brick mound on the bank of the Jharahi River. It is seven meter high brick stupa consisting of relic (one of the eight astha dhatu) of Lord Buddha. The Stupa was built by the king of Ramgrama, who was the eighth king to obtain the Buddha's relics.
Day 07: Fly or drive back to Kathmandu
Rest and overnight at Kathmandu where you will enjoy your farewell dinner.
Day 08: Departure to your homeland
