Jiri-EBC-Cho La-Gokyo trekking trail can also be considered as one of the longest trekking route with the most amazing experience of the lifetime. Jiri to Everest base camp was firstly used by the first climbers of Everest i.e. Tenjing Norgay and Edmund Hillary so Jiri is also known as ‘the gateway to Everest’ among the trekkers, expeditors and visitors. This trek gives you the best view of various peaks present in the Everest region of Nepal namely Mt. Everest (8848m) which is the highest peak in earth, Mt. Lhotse (5816m), Mt. Makalu (8463m), Chooyu (8201m), Nuptse (7855m), Pumori (7145m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Thamserku (6725m). The most difficult part of this trekking can be measured as Cho La pass (5420m) which will add more fun and excitement to your trekking. You will be experiencing the miraculous beauty of Gokyo during his trek. At the top of Gokyo RI you can experience the amazing rare view of Everest from its base to the top. Overall you can enjoy the complete package of the chance to experience the culture, beauty and adventure present at the upper Himalayas of the Everest region of Nepal. The main habitat of this region is Buddhist people of Sherpa origin. This trek consists of passing through different lakes, rivers, peaks and the group of people from different culture and tradition.
The beginning of this trip is from Jiri which is also known as the Switzerland of Nepal. Jiri is accessible from Kathmandu after a 6-7 hrs drive by bus. Himalaya Heart treks and Expedition arranges the entire package for you including the best guide and amenities during the trip.
Normally you will walk about 5-6 hrs a day. You will have plenty of time to stop for refreshments. Our guide will be there to assist you every step of the way during your trek. Your meals will be provided in teahouses according to your choice. Your guide will take your order from the menu and check in the kitchen that everything is fresh and well cooked. For accommodation you will be provided with a double room. Your guide will also act as your interpreter and be able explain about our culture and traditions and any other queries you may have. Our guides are well versed in English and their main duty is to help you in any way at all times. Our porter will be well equipped and insured. We want to you to feel safe and taken care of so that your trek is as enjoyable as possible.
Tourist Visa for visiting Nepal for 30 days can be obtained from the Nepalese Embassy in your country or from the Immigration Counter at Nepal Entry Points (like Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu) on payment of US $ 40.00 (you will also need a passport size photograph).
